ABUSE VICTIMS EXCOMMUNICATED ON DIVORCE
"If the apologies
voiced by both Bertie Ahearn and more importantly by
the "Holy See" are to be seen as being truly sincere I
now appeal to the Holy See to issue by a further
statement an "Absolution" to all former Victims of
Child Abuse who through no fault of their own (by way
of Emotional and Psychological Trauma) at one point in
their lives Married the wrong person or simply could
not cope with married life and were forced to Divorce
thereby (by Default) automatically became
excommunicated from the very Church who caused the
trauma in the first place and as such (without
absolution) are forbidden from receiving Holy
Communion. For me this is more than tragic in so far
as not being able to fully participate in what I see
as my only sanctuary on a spiritual level and without
the Holy Communion renders myself and many others
stripped of the very thing which became all so
important from a very early age. Again, if the Holy
See is to be compassionate, spiritual and God Fearing
as we were led to believe, then a mass absolution on
this is not too much to ask - Is it? Martin, England.
