Dear Sir,
There has been a great deal of exposure given to the Roman Catholic abuse cases that took place in Ireland - even Bertie Ahern (The Irish Prime Minister - Taoiseach) has apologized on behalf of the state's agencies for their gross incompetence and lack of humanity to children placed in the care of the State, usually with religious orders, priest, brothers, nuns.
There is a group of people in Ireland i.e. a group of Non-Catholics whom nobody apologizing to - neither the Irish government or their respective churches.
Did their pain, their suffering not count or matter? Isn't it time that the state took this seriously and that the other religions were made to take it more seriously. Surely in 2005 it shouldn't matter what religion you are but the justice is meted out in equal measures.
I would be very glad if you could print this, you may also print my email address but not my postal address.
Yours sincerely
Derek Linster
