When the Real Truth Emerges

May we refer to the article in the Daily Mail dated 20th November 2008 by Carol Sarler and the article in The Sunday Times dated 23rd November 2008 by Brenda Power in relation to books that has sold in great numbers?

It’s only when one reads the aforementioned articles in full it soon becomes clear that Carol Sarler and Brenda Power doesn’t realize the years of frustration and suffering that thousands of victims of institutional child abuse have endured who were deliberately marginalized, criminalized and incarcerated in the industrial schools by the State.

Carol Sarler I'll Tell You What's Ugly ... This Shameful Appetite For Misery Porn and Brenda Power MISERY-LIT FROM 'ANGELA'S ASHES' TO 'KATHY'S STORY are talking about a few people who have written a few books but they fail to understand that the aforementioned books do not represent many thousands of victims of institutional child abuse.

Therefore, there is no truth in Brenda Power’s comment “that so many abused/starved/neglected/beaten children have grown up to be millionaire authors on the back of their earliest recollections”.

We certainly haven’t made millions as authors or even had as much as a read receipt from an Irish newspaper in relation to our concerns.

We are beginning to wonder whether Carol Sarler and Brenda Power and the Irish newspapers really want to be connected to these issues.

However, the aforementioned pales in significance compared to the activities of the Ryan Commission and the Redress Board.

A place of secrecy, exclusion and bewilderment.

Furthermore, it appears that the deadline for the Publication of the so called Ryan Commissions Report is at the end of January 2009 and the so called Redress Board is drawing to its conclusion sometime from now.

We predict that a large number of complaints will surface especially after the Ryan Commission has completed its findings due to the fact that many victims of institutional child abuse have no confidence in the Ryan Commission.

It’s a shocking story that will one day be analysed by historians and political commentators who will judge the behaviour of the Government and the Religious Orders in dealing with victims of institutional child abuse and other children who were abused from the 1920s to the present day in the same critical terms as those who perpetrated the abuse and the politicians, departmental officials, members of the Garda Siochana, the Judiciary and others who facilitated the abuse or who incarcerated many victims of institutional child abuse in those hellholes in the first place.

Carol Sarler and Brenda Power including the Irish newspapers will learn that history will judge the Government and the Religious Orders unkindly when the real truth emerges.
