That's me Geraldine, I can't stay in the one spot for too long. You might well be taken up on the offer to do the "viewings". It's a big gaff with over 200 acres of land going with it. Geraldine, that's a lot of walking and a long viewing session.

Not a bad gaff at all Andrew. Fancy buying it with me. Sure with all the funds we got from the Redress Board we could buy that and still have some change to put a few cattle on it. I don't fancy cutting that grass, better have a few cows eating it. Or we would open an Institution as the advertisement for the property says. Any idea's who we could put into it. I'm open to suggestions as always.

Nice gaff - dem nuns knew how to look after themselves! Isn't this the same order of nuns who acted abominably in Newtownforbes Industrial School where the children were lice-ridden, battered and bruised and starving andthe response of the Dept. of Education was to organise a Catering Course for the nuns - - even though the same order of nuns were catering for children in Boarding schools, Secondary Schools and Hospitals !?!

Paddy - I cannot believe the co-incidence. From Baltinglass to Ardagh! I'd happily do all the 'viewings' to sell properties so that every abused soul could be amply compensated.
Love

This is just part of the description of the property referred to above taken from the Vendors website:

MAGNIFICENT PROPERTY IN THE VILLAGE OF ARDAGH ON CIRCA 226.7 ACRES (91.75 HECTARES)

Ardagh Demesne is a magnificent property steeped in history with a range of splendid features together with two gate lodges in a wonderful private setting, surrounded by mature parkland and sheltered by an extensive variety of timber set in the tranquil location of the village of Ardagh

Ardagh is a picturesque village, located in the southern part of County Longford, 10 km south east of Longford town and 4 km south west of Edgeworthstown. It is a traditional rural Irish village with many unique qualities, particularly in relation to its design.

Ardagh House is located in the centre of the village and acts as the focal point for the overall area. The surrounding area outside the village itself is largely agricultural with residential development being restricted to single one – off houses.

Ardagh is County Longford’s most picturesque village and overall winner of the Tidy Towns Competition..

Land is laid out in one extensive block surrounding the main residence.
-------------------------------------

To find out more about the extent of this property just type "Ardagh Demesne" into Google or other search engine. I know this property well as I live within walking/wheeling distance from it.
