The e-mail below has been edited very slightly. The original has been sent to the Department of Education with the writer’s name. To protect their identity, I’ve been asked not to publish their name on this website and I’m happy to do that given the gravity of its content. Paddy Doyle

Dear (Name is given)

I have been in touch with you before regarding the SF. (Statutory Fund)
During my conversation I recall complaining about the group “Right of Place” in Cork and their lack of a Mandate.
I received a telephone call from an old woman here in the USA last night. She had just received a letter from “Right of Place”.
I had written to Christopher Heapy a few years ago telling him to REMOVE this woman from their database.

She NEVER signed up to be a member of this group

They still have her on their database, her home address and God knows what other information.

She initially went to a meeting in Boston years ago when Noel C Barry came to the USA to advise people the Redress Board.
The lady to whom I’m referring never signed any paper work to that could link her to “Right of Place” at this meeting.

What she did do was to sign up with a Dublin solicitor who was travelling with Noel C Barry. She filled out her forms for the Redress Board with the Solicitor.

I am seriously concerned as to who gave Noel C. Barry of “Right of Place” this woman’s private and confidential information

Was it the firm of Solicitors?

I also suspect that other people on this side of “the pond” were signed up as members of “Right of Place” WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT having been given.

Right of Place has been funded to the tune of millions from your department. None of these millions have made their way to any former ‘survivors’ that I’m aware of.

Today the Irish are on their knees, broken and ashamed. The whole world is looking on. I know, I’m Irish and I’m in the in the USA. What’s happening in Ireland right now is a source of great embarrassment and shame to me.

The leaders of – “Right of Place”, “Right of Peace” and all the other so called ‘survivor representative leaders’ should now step down. Department of Education must now insist that ‘survivors’ be allowed to decide who they want to speak on their behalf. Furthermore, all funding to these groups who have no mandate must cease immediately.

The GAME IS OVER
‘WAS IT FOR THIS?”

Enough is Enough

  1. And when members die thier relatives recieve information from right of place. its comes in the names of thier dead ones. its heartless. As for the rest of us the closest we get is on here. When i have asked to have my name returned to me i dident get an answer. so i can not be sure. I dont think these people give a damn about the ones outside thier own chosen members. its unfair and its worrying as i feel the need to control whats done with by name .

    Hi May,
Do you by any chance recall the name of the Solicitor who attended all of these meetings in Camden Town? Also May, did you ever get correspondence from Right of Place Second Chance, about any of their meetings, i would be very interested to know, as it seems lots of people are in the same position as yourself who find that their details are being held by this (ILLEGAL) group.

    Pauline

Pat Kenny had a “Happy Day’ at the RDS. Some companies donated “Teddy Bears” one for every one in the audience so to speak. So anyway the Happy day is going along fine and people went up and took the FREE TEDDY BEARS; So some people were left out on getting a Teddy Bear. So to cut a long story short Pauline. Miss Christine went up on the stage and stopped the band and said into the microphone “Yas are very BOLd, Give back them teddy Bears if yas took more than one and the band is not playing until yas bring them back..So the story goes. Well that’s my version and I was there and that is what i saw and heard. So Pauline Give back that TEDDY BEAR ya took that day. Go on give it back, or I’m telling Paddy to ban ya from here (LOL)

The Teddy’s Bears Picnic is a well known children’s song. Lighten up!

  7. Could anyone let the rest of us know whats this buisness about teddybears. And when did this happen.

WOW extremely well put Paddy fair play sir.
This must be illegal and to think ones human rights have been violated not just this wonderful lady but god knows how many human rights have been violated regarding the whole issue of these so called groups.
proof once again of the constant neglect of those rights regarding oh so many survivors if not ALL.
If they take no notice of Paddy Doyle here then these cronies are pushing these groups forward into dictating to us as usual.
This is a fine example on how the Head kills the body,
CORRUPT POLITICS SPREADS NOTHING BUT DESTRUCTION

in respect to the letter above regarding right of place and all the other so called groups who claim to represent us well they dont ,they only have our names and address in the first place when so many of us were claming for redress. but i think it is immoral they continue to get heavely funded for us when we never recieve any help not as much as a dime so someone tell me where is all the funds going and to who as myself and so many others i know dont get nothing not even a letter , i live in london and i hear it time and time again from people who were in the homes with me so we all cant be lying . camden town irish centre run by philis morgan

Regarding the email above from a gent in the USA, further proof of the Group’s still using name’s of Member’s they claim to represent, but in fact have no right to.
With many former Member’s no longer with us, and the many like myself and the Lady referred to above, who requested to have their name’s removed from these Group’s data base, it is very likely that all the Group’s have, are mailing list’s, and continue claiming funding on the back’s of these name’s! This amount’s to fraud!

In 2002 I was contacted by a solicitor about the Commission to inquire into child abuse,he also told me there was a redress board been set up to compensate the children of Industrial Schools. I found this interesting as I was in Goldenbridge from 1935 / 1950 . It was the solicitor told me there was a meeting at Hammesmith London on the next Sunday . When I went to the club where the meeting was held I wasnt allowed in till I signed a entrance book. I was told it was in case of fire. I never signed anything else only the entrance book. The same solicitor was at every meeting for whole year. I never signed to join Right of Place group. Any one who went to a meeting and signed the entrance book was put down as a member. This was how they got our names. Our names have been passed on to the new lot who have taken over as I have now received a letter from them

What will it take for the Department of Education to make a stand on this burning issiue?. Are these people without souls?. Can they not for once do the right thing?. Ireland is on its knees and no wonder when departments of government are manned by the very people who brought it there. If ever a change was needed it is now. Where is your fu***ng pride?.
